Fall began on March 20 here in Chile. Children started their new year of school in the first week of March. The month was filled with many other events and blessings, including us relocating our home to be closer to the new church plant, our annual church planting conference, and our first couples’ meeting at the church.
Our annual church planting and discipleship conference was held at the Chile Training Center. My family had the privilege of hosting Patrick Henry who was one of our two guest speakers. Patrick is a dear friend and missionary serving in Argentina. He was a big blessing during his short stay with us. We kept Patrick and our other speaker, Peruvian Pastor and Missionary Miguel Murillo, very busy teaching and preaching during their time with us. Many people became more burdened for church planting and disciple making during the conference. We hope to see the gospel continue to advance here in Chile and around the world.
Our first couples’ meeting went well. We had four couples attend, plus Patrick Henry who brought us a great challenge from the Word. We had a great time together. We also recently had our first divided (male, female, children) Sunday evening service to build comradery with one another. We had 10 men, 19 women, and 6 children.
I would ask that you be in prayer for our oldest daughter, Penelope, who is 12 years old. She has recently been diagnosed with autism. Anna and I have noticed mild, autistic-type qualities about her since she was very young. After talking with several friends with autistic children, we decided to have her tested. She has already begun therapy sessions here in Chile. Anna and I are glad we now know what she struggles with so that we can be a better help to her in the years ahead. Penelope is a sweet and caring person who loves Jesus. We are glad she is a part of our family.
Discipleship lessons continue to go well with several of our people. We had one more teenager start discipleship recently. They are growing in the Lord and getting more involved in serving in the church. The weekly woman’s Bible study, led by Anna and Cote, also continues to go well.
We had an 18-year-old young man named Jesús accept Christ after one of our Sunday evening services. He is a product of our visitation outreach. Please pray for him as he starts his walk with the Lord.
