I would appreciate your prayers for my missions mentor, Pastor Austin Gardner. Yesterday he started having trouble breathing and went to the hospital. He has the coronavirus and pneumonia. They put him on a ventilator and in a medically induced coma which is a process of 5 to 15 days. They started him off at 100% oxygen force. Today he has already progressed greatly and at 50% oxygen. I know our God is able to fully heal him and do it quicker than expected. Without Pastor Gardner investing in my life and training me to be a missionary, I’d probably not be in Chile serving Jesus today. Please pray for an immediate full recovery.
A week ago today, our city began a mandatory shelter-in-place order. We have to get permission online if we need to leave our home. We are doing fine and continue to minister in our creative ways. We have started many new Bible studies and discipleships via video calls. God continues to build His church despite not being able to congregate at our building. Many of our leaders are leading these Bible studies, not just me and Anna. It’s a joy to see the gospel continue to spread through this season of doubt and dismay for so many.
Johan and Marianne continue to hunger for the Word. They are growing through discipleship. I’m meeting with them online twice a week as well as with two other couples. We are looking forward to having them join us for a service someday when we can open back up.
